A great post today in our paper, the Union Tribune. Looking forward to seeing the final exhibit. A great museum with even a better reason to visit.

1st place – The Schoonmaker Cup and Star North Americans. November, 2011

Tampa, FL.

Race 3: Broke rig. Running. 4^th at the time and on way to finish. 20 knots puffs to 28. last run to finish. Crew behind backstay in puffs- reaching on run with pole. Made the jibe. Had been going for 15-20 seconds on new jibe. Pole still to leeward, main somewhat luffing. Rig went over bow. Mast rotated hard in step. Step opened up (bent on sides). Had to pull out step and straighten. At least two (maybe three) people fell out of boats and had to be retrieved. Xavier broke rig right behind us. Mast in 2 pieces.

Day 1: We went out for one race today, but were sent back to shore before the start

time. There was 25 on the course, but 38 in the harbor. When we got in, it
rained for the afternoon (pic attached). No wind for some time, and then
nice sunshine and medium breeze around 6pm.
35 knots plus was reported both North and South of us when they cancelled
for the day.

Practice Day: Not much wind. Went to see guiness brewery today. Some photos of club and bay too. Locals saying it is odd to see the sun. we are in for a few days of bad weather.

Day 5: Better day 2, 7th’s which had us placing 13th overall. 14pts out of making the medal round.

Day 2: Facebook/Twitter post today saying it was my birthday. Today is my birthday in Europe – 7/6 june 7^th? right? Kind of funny. Someone even brought me chocolate. Sorry but it is July 6th. Cold today. I submarine’d too many times on run. If I was faster down hill we’d be doing better still. Really quick uphill though. 15 built to 20/ more forecast for tomorrow

Day 1: At yc at 8am for potential weigh in. Jury decided not to weigh anyone at 9am- after they had already posted people for weighing. delay on land. wind 3 knots for most of day on our race course (more wind on other courses early. left dock around 3pm. Delay on water. Eventually one race. Back in about 7:30pm and cold. diner 9pm. now 9:45 and headed for shower and bed soon.
